  Wordna Warren, Program Assistant

As Program Assistant, Wordna Warren assists in curriculum development, marketing and outreach, evaluation methods, and other responsibilities geared toward the re-launching of the Counseling Outreach Initiative in the fall of 2008.

Warren is originally from Memphis, TN and is a graduate of Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in History. Upon graduation, she joined Teach for America (TFA) and dedicated two years to teaching third grade students in Houston, TX. While teaching in Texas, she served on the TFA program advisory committee for 2 years and was elected her school’s third grade level chairperson during her second year. She was also nominated for the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators Teacher of the Year Award.

Warren currently works full-time as Student Recruitment Project Manager with the Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy. She is also a founding member of the Women and Youth Supporting Each Other (W.Y.S.E.) Alumnae Advisory Committee, a mentoring program with which she volunteered during her time at Harvard.
