In response the challenge of educating and connecting students with college opportunities where they will be most successful, Center for Student Opportunity formed the College-Bound Coalition.
CSO’s College-Bound Coalition is an alliance of colleges, universities, college access programs, counselors and others that share a mission to serve and support the higher education aspirations of today’s first-generation, low-income, and minority college-bound students.
The College-Bound Coalition is a forum for learning, collaboration, and educational advancement. Bringing together institutions, organizations, and individuals, CSO provides the College-Bound Coalition with program services that promote and advance Coalition member efforts, disseminate information on best practices, and build bridges for strategic partnerships and alliances.

Under the College-Bound Coalition, CSO programs work to:
• Build awareness of available college programs and opportunities for first- generation and underserved students
• Increase and improve college guidance services that match students with colleges and universities where they will succeed
• Strengthen the host of college and community programs serving college access and retention.
CSO programs include:
1. CSO College Center, an online clearinghouse of college programs and admissions information, provides students, parents, and counselors with a search and matching tool to discover four-year, student-centered college programs and opportunities.
2. Counseling Outreach leverages the volunteer support of professional college counselors to do pro bono outreach work with under-resourced schools and community-based organizations in their area.
3. Program Development collaborates with colleges and community-based organizations to provide in-kind consulting and grant assistance toward strengthening college access and retention programs.
