ACU en Español is designed to help Spanish-speaking students and their families as they plan and prepare for college. The program’s website includes information about the importance of going to college and what ACU has to offer Hispanic families. Also, links to scholarships for Hispanics, a list of government grants, descriptions of different types of loans, and many other resources are available to help students make a reality out of the dream of a college education whether or not they plan to attend ACU.

The Sankofa Mentoring Program
The Sankofa Mentoring Program assists new students in achieving academic, intellectual and social balance. Sankofa students participate in developmental workshops, cultural outings, leadership conferences and career fairs in addition to academic advising and tutoring. The Sankofa Mentoring Program also offers an Alumni Tier to help current students collect with college alumni for career guidance.

This scholarship is designed for students who not only exhibit a strong scholarship and service, ministry, or leadership in their school, church, or community, but also have demonstrated a commitment to promoting racial and ethnic diversity and reconciliation. To be eligible, students must achieve one or more of the following: rank in the top 10% of their graduating class, have at least a 3.6 GPA, score at least a 1200 on the SAT 1 (Critical Reading and Math Sections only), or at least a 26 on the ACT.

RISE is a three-year academic enrichment program designed to increase liberal arts college readiness and success for minority girls. The program is sponsored by Rosemont College and by the School District of Philadelphia. The Office of Admissions speaks with students during their junior year and their senior year. Students are briefed on Rosemont, as well as how to apply to other colleges, scholarships, financial aid, etc.

LEAD, Leading Through Education, Activism and Diversity, is a leadership development program for Stanford students (primarily freshmen and sophomores) interested in exploring issues of cross-cultural collaboration and activism for the purpose of social change. The program is led by the staff of Stanford’s four ethnic community centers (the Asian American Activities Center, the Black Community Services Center, El Centro Chicano, and the Native American Cultural Center) and the Office of Multicultural Education.
