The
Center for Student
Opportunity (CSO), a sister nonprofit of Student Horizons, Inc.,
is a new national organization committed to fostering
opportunities for first-generation and other underserved
college-bound students through the promotion of colleges
and community organizations that seek innovative approaches to
strengthening student success.
There is a Student-College
Disconnect In an ever-commercialized higher
education industry and with the pressures surrounding such a focus
on college, first-generation and underserved students suffer from a
lack adequate college counseling and mentoring to encourage a
college-bound culture.
Leading colleges and universities
continue to express a desire to serve these students in tandem with
scholarship and financial aid opportunities to build an academically
talented and diverse student body. But, schools often lack the
knowledge and directed resources to reach these groups of qualified
students.
CSO Provides Effective

organizations, schools, counselors, and students to get
