I can become a better friend and a better person. I can think for myself. I can get into the spirit. This is my chance. This is my anthem. At Dominican University... I can.

CAN I GET WHAT I NEED TO SUCCEED?
We are here to help you succeed - with faculty that guide you and support you, with internships that allow you to test drive your career and with small classes, leadership opportunities and a campus filled with people who will make you feel welcome and cared for. This is college. This is your opportunity. You can.

I CAN BE HEARD

Our classes average only 15 students, and our student/faculty ratio is 12:1, so you can feel comfortable asking questions and sharing your opinions in class. You'll get to know your instructors as friends and mentors, not just teachers.

I CAN GET INVOLVED
Among the 50 clubs and organizations available for our students to get involved with are several cultural and ethnic organizations including Asian Student Club, Black Student Union (BSU), CIAO (Italian-American club), Indian Student Organization, and OLA (organization of Latin-American Students). Other popular clubs and organizations include Student Government Association, University Ministry, Service Club, as well as 12 NCAA Intercollegiate varsity sports and an extensive intramural sports program.

I CAN LIVE THE CITY LIFE
Browse the shops of Michigan Avenue. Take a spin on the Navy Pier ferris wheel. See a play or a concert. Lose your voice cheering for one of Chicago's many professional teams. Everything Chicago has to offer is yours to enjoy. Just hop on a Metra train or the "el" and be downtown in about 15 minutes.

ACADEMIC ADVISING

Dominican has a strong and unique academic advising process where by every student is advised by professors at the University. Freshmen are individually advised by a freshman seminar professor and each upper division student by a professor in their major. This ensures a thorough and personalized advising process with open communication and close-working relationships. The Office of Multicultural Affairs, in collaboration with the advising office, monitors the academic progress of multicultural and transitioning students.

SPECIAL ADMISSION OPPORTUNITIES - THE TRANSITIONS PROGRAM

Dominican Univertsity admits a limited number of students each year who do not meet all of the regular admission requirements but who have demonstrated the potential to complete university course work successfully. The Transitions Program allows special consideration for students who do not meet the minimum entrance requirements because they are first generation college students or come from families who do not speak English or attend high schools which do not adequately prepare students for a competitive university evironment. For these students, a condition of admission to the college is enrollment in a special summer academic program which strengthens the foundation skills of the student and helps to ensure academic success.
